About Barrier Free Systems

Barrier Free Systems, Inc. was established in 1985 to meet the growing need for commercial and residential accessibility equipment in the Capital Region, and from Plattsburgh to Poughkeepsie.  Accessibility equipment helps people remain independent in their own residences in the event of short-term or long-term recovery from accident, or illness.  Barrier Free Systems installs and maintains ceiling track systems, wheelchair lifts, stair lifts, door operators and elevators for commercial (limited use) and residential applications.

Clients of Barrier Free Systems include churches, schools, libraries, public town halls, commercial sites and private residences.  The sales team works closely with referral agencies, advocacy groups, general contractors and building officials, and private individuals.

Today’s health care concerns are genuine, and it is widely acknowledged that staying in one’s own home is positive and productive.  A person’s sense of well-being, his or her outlook on life and physical and mental health can all be enhanced by remaining at home.  Our accessibility solutions can help make this possible.
