Inclined Platform Lifts

Need your power wheelchair on more than one level in your home?
Stairlifts a bit too difficult to transfer to?
An Inclined platform wheelchair lift may be the solution for you.

The description is all in the name.

Inclined Platform Lift
Garaventa Express II

An Inclined Platform Lift is a mechanized platform that will carry you or your loved one, in a wheelchair up or down an existing stairway. These lifts run on a rail system that can either be installed on a stairway wall or on self supporting towers. There are sturdy and reliable models for both straight and curved stairways, indoors and out. Inclined platform lifts are popular choices for public buildings built prior to 1990, i.e., municipal buildings, schools and houses of worship.

We carry several lines of inclined platform lifts. If this is the answer to your accessibility quandary, one of them will be sure to meet your needs and requirements. Some of the most popular features and options are listed below. Keep in mind that the options, safety features and warranties vary based on intended use (commercial or residential) and manufacturer.

  • Most models can be equipped with a backup battery and can manage approximately 5-6 runs in the case of a power outage.
  • Some fold up when not in use to allow access, both manual and power options
  • Constant pressure buttons to control lift travel
  • Emergency stop button
  • Safety brake
  • Grab handles/passenger support bar
  • Non skid platform
  • Optional folding ramp guard
  • Sensors that will detect an obstruction in the lift’s path
  • Optional remote controls/ wireless call stations

Some of the above items are required if the lift is intended for commercial use, and are optional if only being used in a private residence.

All new incline platform lifts installed by Barrier Free conform to ANSI A18.1 and state and local code for safety and operation.

Our factory trained technicians will install your lift, test run it, tidy up the install area afterwards and train you in it’s operation before leaving it for your use.

Most manufacturers recommend preventative maintenance every 6 months to once a year. If you are interested in a specific manufacturer, please click on the logo(s) below to view their websites and products.
