Pool and Spa Lifts
Did you know that as of March 15, 2011, all public pools and spas are required to have at least one accessible entry for persons using a wheelchair?

The final portion of the ADA ruling was passed in September 2010. While you may be considering a lift for a family member at home, keep in mind that the rest of the country will soon be required to follow the ADA guidelines for access.
At Barrier Free Systems we work with two companies that manufacture pool and spa lifts in the US.
There are lifts for several applications and both companies offer custom options for unique circumstances. Aside from the standard above-ground and in-ground pools, you can purchase and install lifts for docks and boats as well. Most lifts are intended to be bolted or permanently affixed to concrete or wood posts that have been set in concrete. However, there are some ingenious portable versions that are either counterweighted and roll to pool edge or have a preformed hole in concrete that the lift can be pulled out of if it needs to be portable.
Aquatic Access lifts are powered by water pressure and Aqua Creek’s use rechargeable batteries. Both offer a variety of choices and options based on your needs, weight requirements and location. The bottom line is that there is sure to be one that will work for you. We can help you decide which lift will fit your requirements.
